Nikki Notes: Entry Twenty-Two

In the morning, I don’t see Danielle like I usually do. I get ready to go jogging, then before I head out without her, I decide to see if she just slept in or whatever. I pause outside her door as I can hear voices – and then I hear her cry out Ben’s name. Feeling jealous, I move away from the door, and angrily inform Scott that I’m fine when he asks if everything is ok, then go jogging.

Whilst out jogging the sunny day becomes a sudden torrential downpour. I duck into a shop to escape the rain, and my phone rings. It’s Ben, asking me if I’ll turn around and come back. As I’ve cooled off, both literally and figuratively, I head back. Once I get there, Ben stops me at the door, and the rain stops, once again becoming a sunny day. He then directs a blast of hot air at me, drying me off, then asks me if we can please talk like adults. I make coffee, and we talk like adults about the matter, with me doing a lot of apologizing, and promising  that it was just the sudden shock of the matter that had me upset, and not the act itself.

Gabe also just happens to be over, and Ben is flirting with him a bit. I take Ben to my room to show Ben the book that Donovan gave me, and he’s extremely interested, as some of it contains the language of his people. I offer to try and learn from Donovan where he got it from, and Ben thanks me for this. I kiss Ben to apologize, and I just right then want him so badly. He caresses me, whispers to me, and then goes to leave, but stops when I call him an ass (for getting me all worked up). He responds that he could be, and I respond back that I don’t want him to be.

He then offers a quickie to me, and I accept – but he asks me to beg for it. So in my sultries voice, I say “Jolie se il vous plaît” (pretty please). He closes the door. Once we’re alone, he’s very dominant, even more so than usual. On some level I love it. We’re at it half an hour before the messy finish. He then helps me shower. Once out, I text Sandy to find out if she’s headed over or we are picking her up for our (myself, Gabe, Scott, her, Danielle) spa day. We spend the entire day at the spa and overall have a great day. After the spa I head home to get ready for dinner with Donnie and his parents.

His little sister (Maddie) is a major brat all through dinner, trying to poke into our personal lives. His mother (Lenore) seems genuinely nice, and pokes some fun at Donnie during dinner, embarrassing him but amusing me. His father (Lawrence) also pokes fun at Donnie and does ask me some questions, and it’s from him that I get that ping I tend to get when magic’s in the air. I delve into it a little further, and determine that he isn’t a practitioner akin to my brother…something a step below that, though. Similar to Donovan, but stronger.

Dinner is going relatively well until the engagement announcement (I didn’t know that they didn’t know). A lot of stunned silence follows. At one point, his father notices my pentacle, and comments about it being point up, and how that’s a good thing. After the shock wears off, dinner continues to go well. After dinner Donnie takes me home, and hopes to get in on the Iron Kitty practice taking place there. As I haven’t told them yet, I call my parents to inform them about the engagement.

Mom asks me what my last name will be (Spencer), and when Dad gets on the phone he asks if Donnie is related to a a Hugo Spencer. I check with Donnie (Hugo is his Uncle), and when Dad learns this he blows up, forbidding my engagement, saying that the Spencer’s are a bad family. He won’t go into any detail, and mom promises to try and talk to him. Disappointed, I head inside to distract myself from the downturn of the evening, and Donnie gets in some practice.

After Donovan gets up, he looks at the assembled crowd of gamers, then disappears into his office, coming back with a stack of cash. He sets it down in the middle of the table. $10,000 to the player who can get the longest kill streak. Time limit is one hour. Poor Brad does miserably, most of the team tie each other, with Sandy and Burtowski beating them (them being Donnie, Scott and Jeremy). My brother ends up winning the lot. He gives everyone else $500 for being good sports, and then celebrates.

Scott is being kind of an ass, by keeping shoving pizza in Burtowski’s face. Burtowski warns him not to do it again or he’ll punch him, but Scott does it anyway and gets laid out for his trouble, cracking his jaw in the process. Not long after, the party winds down, and people leave. Invite Donnie to stay if he wants, but he can’t, as he has school the next day. Once it’s down to just those of us that live there, I inquire about Hugo Spencer, and Donovan debates on how much to tell me, finally informing me that I am apparently brushing up against a Giovanni revenant. A revenant, incase you were wondering, is someone who was born a ghoul, as far as my understanding of the matter goes.

Donovan then goes out to feed, and Scott takes Danielle to her room for a romp, and I’m left alone. Head to my room, and hear Lovecraft asking if I am lonely. As I am, he tells me to call the big man, and by that I figure out he means Ben. I do call Ben, who is on his way to a business meeting, but he’s willing to turn around and meet with me, so he has me meet him at the coffee shop we met at before.

He’s in a business suit when he comes in, which is something I haven’t seen him wear, but that’s neither here nor there. We talk about the evening and the revelations I’ve learned, and he suggests that I take the time to get back to my Wiccan roots to clear my head, and talk to my Dad when I have the change, and get what Dad knows from him. After we depart, I go for a long walk in the park – just an hour, hour and a half walking around and reconnecting with nature before heading home. Talk to Lovecraft a little, then study the book Donovan gave me for a while before going to bed.
