Nikki Fics ~ Post Two

Nikki woke up from a nap, the sun streaming in through the window, her cat cuddled next to her, still sleeping. She blinked awake, then quickly got up, and sat at her desk, firing up Google Docs to type.

The large bonfire burned brightly against the black of the evening sky. Music played merrily in the background, and Lucius, the fae king of the realm, sat on the ground against a log, minor luxuries such as a blanket beneath him and pillow behind him accompanying him. He watched his men, his soldiers partake in the merriment, until she began to dance.

It was hypnotizing to watch.

Her colorful skirts swished about her legs and ankles in time with the music, and her feet were nimble. He looked up her body, away from the colorful skirt and plainer colors of her blouse up to her face. It was enticing, looking at her. Her eyes were closed as she swayed to the strains of music that presently played. Everything seemed to fall away around him as he watched Gina dance.

Never had he wanted a mortal more than in that moment.

Nikki sat back, satisfied with the imagery she’d felt she had invoked. It was a short piece, but it might work for a future story. Certainly more publishable than Jesse and Garrett, although she had more ideas for them.  She opened up a separate document, that she kept character idea profiles in, and began writing her ideas in it.

Lucius – Fae king and General of his army. Powerful, benevolent, but cruel when necessary. Flirtatious, a woman rarely holds his interest for long.

Gina – A gypsy woman, displaced in time. A firm leader in her own right, she is nevertheless still a woman, and not taken seriously in her new surroundings.

Garrett – A young god, potentially in love (or at least in lust) with a mortal woman. He seems to know her needs, and is supportive when she needs it – but is aloof as to his true intentions towards her.

Jesse – A young woman in love (and lust) with Garrett, though will not admit it to him until/unless she knows his true intentions.

Nikki sighed. She might write more of Garrett and Jesse, but no one would ever see it. It was too close to wishful thinking, and she didn’t want her thoughts and feelings about Ben out in the open like that – especially where he might read them. Still….if she tweaked it a little? It was worth some pondering. Until then, the characters would stay filed away for future use.
