Asami’s Assertations #1

The last couple of days have been a whirlwind of activity. I can’t even remember the last time I was so buys – or hyper.

Let me start with Friday, and try to catch up from there, k?

After our usual dinner hangout at David’s parents’ restaurant, we headed out to one of the campus area coffee shops for an after dinner coffee. We were having fun, and I literally got bumped into by the cool librarian chick, Jenica. She apologized for nearly spilling coffee on me, and we chatted a bit. I like her as a person (she’s always been friendly and nice) so I invited her to that night’s race. She seemed excited by it, and left with a guy who didn’t look like he belonged in a coffee house. Oh well, neither does my gang, for that matter.

Forgot to mention that I got a call from my Dad, asking me to please reconsider coming over and having dinner with him and It again. I relented, because my Dad really wanted me to – but Tony got to come along too. Dinner was scheduled for Sunday.

After coffee, we head our separate ways to get ready for the race, when I get a call from Michael saying that Dad’s company has an off-the-books shipment coming in. That can only mean that it isn’t good, so I tell him to get a hold of everyone else and have them ready – we’ll cancel the race and do it another night. Let Jen know, then got together with the gang to go over strategy.

We caught up to the truck easily enough, but he wouldn’t pull over. So I jumped onto it,  yanked the door open, scrambled over the seat, unbuckled him and kicked him out before taking over the truck myself and driving it off into an empty field.

Probably should’ve mentioned the guy sitting on the truck, just watching us, up until I went to go to the back of the truck and open it. It’s the one thing he wouldn’t let us do. Rather than fight with him and potentially get someone injured, we burned the truck. We were going to do it anyway, but I had wanted to see what was inside. Oh well.

Race was rescheduled for Saturday, and Jen and her guy Vince showed up. I won my race, though near the end I could have sworn there was a patch of ice or piece of glass, because of the shimmer, but when I looked back there was nothing. Halfway through the second race, sirens happened, and everyone split. Jen didn’t have a means to get away, so I pulled her onto my bike and raced off – unfortunately, we got caught.

I place my one phone call to Tony, who said he would do what he could to get me out. In the meantime, I got questioned by a detective – something about who organized the races, because they were bringing in the drugs. I feigned innocence, though I really don’t know anything about drugs.

45 minutes later, Jen was gone and my Dad arrived to pick me up. I’d never felt more hurt, he was so disappointed in me. Headed home, trying not to cry. Arrived at my dorm to find Jen’s guy Vince standing there. Roommate wasn’t home, so I brought him in to talk. He knew who I was, and I knew by now he was the guy from the truck the previous night – something int he eyes and smile. Anyway, he said his employer would like to set up a meeting with me, and would Monday evening work? So I set up the interview for Monday evening.

Sunday dinner was….awkward. Apparently. It made him hire a butler and re-do the house. Dad invited us to move into the guest hosue, though I could tell it pained him to do so. He was very courteous to Tony…but then she had to take up grilling Tony on all kinds of things! It was infuriating, but I behaved. Was asked to participate in the wedding the weekend after my graduation – I told them I would think about it.

After dinner, Dad, Tony and I headed down to the basement – very much Dad’s area. I could see him visibly relax down there, and he offered us a drink, arranging to have some of his off duty security staff take us and out bikes home so we wouldn’t get pulled over. Tony walked me up to my room after we got dropped off , and we had a very good bit of intimacy before he had to leave.

Monday was spent in class and at the library with Jen until Vince called – apparently Jen was the one Mai lost to the previous night. That’s right – Mai lost! Anyway..Jen came with to the interview. It seems the guy was itnerested in us both. Long story short, I got $10k for the truck the other night, and hired on to do pretty much the same thing I’ve been doing, at $8k a month to start. Jen too. We vowed to teach one another our skills and set off to find Jen a bike, Vince driving us.

Did I mention my new employer is easy on the eyes, too? So Jen’s guy…but Donovan more so. We got her set up with a bike and they were going to do a custom paint job for it, so afterward we headed back to Vince’s hotel room together for pizza and a movie. I texted Tony along the way to let him know what was up.

Anothe rlong story short – foudn out vampire’s are real, and I drank one’s blood. Still not one hundred percent on what the entails, but hey – things could be worse, right? In any case, typing on my phone is a bitch, so I’m about done here. ‘Til Tuesday! Or, you know…whenever.
