Train of Thought

Lucas could hardly believe his luck. Things had gone well with Jacqueline, and they were going amazingly well with Brandon. He hadn’t expected the man to come in and whisk him off to….well, anywhere he wanted. He’d enjoyed his time in Spain immensely – it was beautiful, right in art and history, and oh, how the Mediterranean sparkled in the sun! It hit a chord with him that seemed to sing home sweet home, and he supposed that in a way he was, having a mix of Spanish and Italian ancestry in his blood, only a generation or two removed. Once again, he was grateful that he could be out and about during the day and be able to enjoy such sights.

Now, he found himself geeking out in Tokyo, and discovering that Brandon was also a bit of a mangaphile himself, enjoying slice of life stuff, among other things. He’d enjoyed a night of shopping and being out on the town with Brandon, and lost himself in the moment and had kissed the other man. He didn’t regret it – but his forwardness surprised him, and he enjoyed it. He was enjoying sleeping in the same bed with Brandon, enjoyed his closeness, and could now understand a little of what Jett likely saw in the older man.  If he wasn’t careful, he felt he might fall for Brandon’s charms.

Brandon was presently sleeping through the afternoon, and Lucas was enjoying the view from the penthouse balcony, idly entertaining possibilities in his head. He was presently letting his imagination run wild, wondering what his parents would think of him being in a polyamorous relationship. Was he in a polyamorous relationship? He didn’t know, but his family didn’t need to know the difference, and probably wouldn’t care if they did.

A heavy sigh followed the thought of his parents. Things had gone so badly when he came out. His father, a man’s man sort, raved in anger. Worse was the disappointment in his mother’s eyes. She’d been trying to hook him up with nice girls for a long time. He knew she wanted him to settle and marry and have kids, and now her hope of grandbabies was dashed, crushed under the open closet door.

His good mood spoiled, he went back into the penthouse proper and flopped onto the couch, picking up a random manga and began to read, hoping to drown out thoughts of his family and the bad feelings they inevitably brought up. Still….it was a little amusing to think of bringing Jett or Brandon or both to meet them. Jett could strong arm his Dad and Brandon could sweet talk his mom into acceptance. Or something. Pushing the thoughts away from his mind, he was so focused on reading the manga he’d purchased, so absorbed, that he failed to notice when night came.
