Skyler punched her pillow and rolled over, trying to get to sleep. She’d just got done chewing Michael out when he came by trying to get her to go jogging. She was so dead tired from having had three 12 hour shift days, and then last night was damn near a double. She was exhausted, and desperately needed the sleep – though Michael probably didn’t need to be snapped at like she’d done. She decided that she’d bake something for him after she got up. But dammit, it was her day off and she was determined to get some sleep.
Sleep was evading her, however. She sighed, thinking maybe she should go fr that jog after all. Part of her wanted to run into that handsome guy that she’d run into before, with the Russian accent. She couldn’t remember if she’d gotten his name or not, but she certainly remembered his eyes. With a grumble she sat up and headed out to her kitchen to get a bit of something to eat as she mulled over her social life.
Most of her socialization was with the people she worked with – she didn’t have much time to do anything else. She’d been on a couple of dates with a nice enough guy by the name of Nikolai, but she wasn’t sure there was anything there to build a relationship on, and so hadn’t been returning his calls, citing her busy work schedule as the reason. I really should tell him I don’t think it’ll work out. She sighed. She hated hurting peoples’ feelings – at least the ones that didn’t deserve it.
She poured herself a bowl of cereal and munched, absently turning the TV on while she ate, catching the news while she ate. Nothing of any real noteworthiness, at least not locally. When she’d finished she rinsed the dishes and put them in the dishwasher, then went to her room to get dressed. It was decided – she’d go out for a while, and hopefully sleep would come later. She had a few days off, and then her schedule was supposed to normalize back into standard shifts.
A walk in the park would be nice. She might run into Michael, she might not. Honestly she was hoping for a quiet time…and part of her was hoping to run into that guy again.
