Sarah first got involved with the drama club in middle school, as something fun to do with her friends. She started out doing costumes and set, until one day she was coaxed into being a sorely needed understudy for a part when she was in eighth grade. Not expecting to have to take the part herself, she obliged. However, opening night happened and the person she was understudying for was not to be found, and so she was thrust into the spotlight.
She still isn’t sure how she managed to get through the initial shock of having to go on, but she was told she did quite well. Confident with this news, she took drama in high school, opting to try out for roles instead of solely behind-the-scenes work. Gradually, she went from background roles to supporting roles, not landing a lead role until her senior year, which happened to also be a musical. With a little coaching, her singing turned out to be quite as good as her acting, and she went on to study drama in college and perform there, earning good reviews for her work.
Exiting university with a Bachelor’s degree, she’s run into a bit of a problem trying to get into graduate school for her chosen profession, and so, has decided to wait until she can procure enough positive credentials and funding to attend a good school, rather than a mediocre one. She found an office job that pays well enough and does that by day, however in the evenings she works at the local community theater, starring in productions for the community and helping those who haven’t been as fortunate as herself learn to love the art.
She’s been involved with plays and musicals alike, and on her rare vacations has made her way to Toronto or Broadway to catch a professional production here and there. On some occasions, she answers casting calls for commercials or even as an extra in a television show filming locally. She’s always been told she has a good work ethic, and strives to prove she is worth the job given to her.
When not acting, she likes to relax with movies, both modern and classic, finding no preference in any one particular genre. What she doesn’t realize is that she is subconsciously studying them as she enjoys them, her mind ever taking in lessons to help hone her art. Occasionally, she plays games, though often only with a friend or two. She has few friends despite her likability, and most of those are within the industry. She is content with her life for now, but her ultimate goal is to progress further with her love of drama, and perhaps even to find someone to share her life with one day.
