Trish could scarcely believe that her baby girl was nearing two months old. She was, as far as Trish knew (and others that have told her), was a good baby, and didn’t seem to have any problems. Of course, time would tell on the latter. Trish had hardly had to lift a finger, there had been so many visitors and Chance was taking as much of the burden off of her as he could, playing the father role beautifully, as far as Trish was concerned.
Perhaps the only visitors she had that had made her nervous were the more divine relatives. Sure there was her grandfather, mother, and cousin (well, she supposed he was actually her uncle) and his wife. But Poseidon had also stopped in, as had Demeter, Artemis and later, Hades. She was not sure what to make of him, but she didn’t dislike him. On his visit though, he asked her a question that had left her thinking: “Figured out what you’re going to do with that rose yet?”
Rose indeed. What was she going to do about it? She knew it could revive one dead person, and she’d already vetoed the idea of reviving her father – it would be a painful experience on multiple angles, and she didn’t want to hurt him. Just let him rest in peace was her decision. In the few days since Hades’ visit, she had wondered about it until it distracted her too much, and she tried to put it out of her mind. Still, she would end up thinking about it while she was breastfeeding. Then it occurred to her – would it work on the undead?
It was something she’d either have to try, or ask Hades about. Still then would be the question of who of the circle of vampires she knew, would actually want to be mortal again? A few of them had the advantage of being Daywalkers, and might not care either way about it. She sighed over it as she finished feeding and burping Emily, passing her off to Chance when she’d finished.
It was later, over dinner (the first dinner she’d cooked herself in many months), that she thought of Vince. Even if he was a Daywalker..would he want the chance to be human again? Would it even work on a Dhampir? She didn’t know….but felt only right that she should make the offer to him when she saw him next. She wondered if she should invite him over…that was probably better than going out to visit him anyway, considering she was still recovering. She picked up her phone, and scrolled until she found his name, and sent a text: ‘When you coming to visit? ;)’
