True to his word, Brandon had pushed the name change paperwork through, and Lucius had gone downtown to receive proof of his name change. No came the hard work – getting copies of his birth certificate, changing his social security card, and etc. However, to his surprise, all that had already been done for him. Chance handed him a manila envelope when he got back to the outreach center, and wished him luck house hunting.
House hunting…Lucius pulled out his phone, and texted Billy, who was already out and about looking around, as he had expected to be longer downtown. Hey man, got done early. Keep looking around in town – I’ll look up on the net and see if there’s anything just outside and take a look. No worries, I’ll be ok. He then switched from the SMS app to the Chrome browser, and headed to Zillow, looking on the map for houses specifically outside the city proper. Finding a few, he jotted down the names of realtors, and made appointments to see some of them.
Several were a bust – nothing he liked, or something just felt off to him. There was one though that he particularly liked. He took a walkthrough vid on his phone his second time through the place, making sure it was high quality. After thanking the realtor, and promising to get back in touch after talking things over with the roommate, he caught an Uber back to the outreach center, texting along the way.
Don’t know about you, but I hit on a place I really liked – best thing about it, no super close neighbors, and it’s set back from the road a bit so, you know, privacy. Told the realtor I was going to show you the walkthrough vid I took of the place and get back in touch with her as to whether or not you wanted to look at the place. BTW, you never let me know how your legal entaglement situation turned out. Anyway, catch you later.
Feeling happy for the first time in a while – that is, happy without Mandy being present – he headed back into the outreach center and then to the kitchen for dinner.

Greg had been perusing the computer for architects to potentially build him a house, but he was having difficulty coming up with something he liked, so he went back to hunting for houses in the area instead. This time, there were a few new listings, and he scrolled though them until he found one he liked, and set up an appointment with a realtor. He’d been getting a bit restless at Vince’s, and felt like he’d been imposing, though he’d been told otherwise. The appointment was set up for the afternoon, and when the time came around, he headed over to the address in his truck.
The outside felt like it spoke to his Greg aspect, and the inside, though empty, seemed to confirm this. It was a place that could feel like a home again, he thought. He told the realtor he’d take it, so they went back to her office and worked on the paperwork. She looked at him oddly though when he said he didn’t need a mortgage. Instead, he handed her a card, and told her to run it for the full amount, plus any other charges that were incurred.
Incredulously, she ran the card, then apologized for her disbelief, and stated she’d have the papers ready as soon as possible for him. He thanked her, and said he would be awaiting her call, then headed back to Vince’s entering the house with a whistle.
