Vignettes XII

Jacqueline was curled up in one of the living room chairs, laptop resting on her legs. As far as Claude knew, she was working. She’s positioned herself where she thought the cameras wouldn’t pick up, and was doing some research. She still felt as though Claude needed to know what his daughter was up to – but she couldn’t predict how he would react. So, she was going to try and gauge his reaction over a few movie nights. An hour after lunch, she had a list put together.

Sense 8, Amorous, Eyes Wide Shut, Shortbus, Perfume: The Story of a Murderer, Caligula, and The Idiots. All of them had group sex scenes, and she figures she could gauge his reaction and see if she should tell him after all, or just keep it secret. Her other dilemma was betraying Mandy’s trust. She wanted to be loyal to her husband, but didn’t want her step-daughter to be upset with her either.

She shook her head, and closed out of several browser tabs before looking up honeymoon destinations. She didn’t care if Claude happened to notice her looking at this – it’s what he told her to do, after all. After a while, she came up with four possible destinations: Aruba, Fiji, Bermuda, and the Bahamas. With a little smile, she sent him a text with the options and asked for his opinion. She knew it was possible he’d been to any or all of the locations. But if there was somewhere he hadn’t been…well, wouldn’t it be nice to go there?

Arturo headed into the nightclub with one purpose. He headed to the bar, and handed an envelope to the head bartender. “Give this to your master.” were the instructions he gave, as were given to him by his Mother. He didn’t know what was in it, but guessed it had something to do with his sister. After Arturo left, Jim worked on making it a priority to get the letter to Vince. As things were busy per usual, he phoned Petra and asked her to collect and deliver.

The letter within would contain the following:

Vincent Dracmore,

I am writing to request my daughter be given back to me. The amount of time, energy, and vitae that has been bestowed on her has been significant, and as such cannot be compensated. Moreover, she is a mere neonate, having only been kindred for a decade. She belongs neither to you nor to Brandon, but to myself.

Should I not get my daughter back by your graces, I will reluctantly concede – however I would request some sufficient measure of your apology.

Awaiting your reply,
     Angelina Giovanni
