Adrianna ran her hand across the top of the piano as she walked around it, enjoying the smooth surface under her fingers. She paused at the keys before reaching out with her right hand, tapping out a vague melody, one key at a time. She never did get the hang of playing the piano, much to her mother’s dismay; that could be because she hated it, however. Perhaps she should look into replacing her cello, as it was unlikely she would ever get it back.
Mulling over this thought, she sat on the bench, setting down the slippers she had been carrying in her left hand. Slipping off her shoes, she ignored the cool hardwood under her bare feet, instead picking up the ballet slippers and putting them on, taking her time to tie them properly. Once they were on, she walked into the room, away from the furniture she’d pushed against the wall, with Emilio’s help.
She took a moment to place the earbuds in her ear, and secure the music player to her person. She pressed play, then took a position, and began to dance, losing herself to the music. She went through an entire routine, then moved seamlessly into another. In all, she did three routines before sitting back down on the piano bench to take off the toe shoes and massage her ankles before putting on the sandals she’d discarded earlier.

Blade rubbed his temples before putting his shades back on. He was happy enough, being a vampire now – but being light sensitive sucked. He reached over to his bedside table, and switched on a lamp, then picked up a nearby book. It was one on sorcery, and he wanted to re-read everything before he performed. As he read over the warding rituals, he was modifying them in his head, trying to calculate things appropriately in order to accomplish what he wanted to do.
He’d already helped re-sanctify Charles’ temple, and had even made an offering to Set. It wasn’t an unfamiliar practice for him – just a different deity. After a couple of hours of reading and jotting down notes, he felt that he had things the way he wanted; all he needed now was a drop of blood from Charles, and anyone else he wanted to let into the temple. Blade’s plan was simple – ward the temple against as much as he could, so that only the ones Charles wanted could have access to the temple, that way it could not be defiled again.
Still, before he implemented it, he should go over the plan with his sire. He closed the sorcery book, setting it back on the bedside table, picked up his journal, then switched off the lamp before heading upstairs to look for his sire.
