“Music is the strongest form of magic.”
– Marilyn Manson
Nick was young when his love for music became apparent. It started with the music his parents would play – things from the 80’s and 90’s that they grew up on, along with some of the early 2000’s stuff that was out at the time. Exploring his love for music came about different. His Nana began to teach him piano when he was young, because he liked to tinker with the one that they had.
Not to be outdone on bonding time with their grandson, his Grandpa began teaching him guitar, exploring the likes of Queen, Led Zeppelin, and Creedence Clearwater Revival. In fact, the first tune he learned to play was Stairway to Heaven, as opposed to most people’s Smoke on the Water.
As he got older, he picked up bass and drums, and worked on his vocals. Beginning in middle school, he joined choir, spending all of middle and high school doing that, occasionally getting solos during performances.
At the encouragement of friends, he would record some of what he did with his webcam, and post them to YouTube…but lacked the confidence to make his videos public, and just left them private.
He was very active and passionate about his music, up until his relationship with Ryan began to get strained, then he left for the military. It took a while after being discharged to start playing again, but he’s been working on getting back into it, and working on songs, before trying to get himself out there, if he can.
