Petra had been around Brandon for a very long time — that much was true. But never, in all her memory, could she remember him being so very, very angry at anyone, much less Emilio, and possibly herself. He’d later confessed that it had everything to know with not knowing what had occurred in his own home, as opposed to the circumstances of why he hadn’t known first hand. Emilio had been dismissed, and he had Petra stay to speak with him. She felt badly for Emilio, who appeared absolutely crushed if you knew where to look for it.
He’d never failed Brandon in all his life until recently, and to have it happen again so soon was unbearable for the man. A small part of Petra wondered if there were anything she should have been able to do to prevent both incidents. Ultimately, she determined she could only have possibly prevented that evening’s event. More so, after learning Brandon had come dangerously close to frenzy.
Seeing her ex had brought back a lot of bad memories for her, especially with her recent episode of nightmares. She understood where Brandon was coming from however, and said as much that it was possible her ex had changed over time, and was willing to acquiesce to be civil, though not necessarily friendly. Overall though, while she felt badly for Emilio, she was happy Brandon had lost the desire to work, and instead spent time with her. They watched a movie, took a bath together, and had some amazing sex. He’d bitten her again during, and though she wasn’t sure he took any blood or not, she didn’t think he had. It was a heavenly experience, but she wasn’t about to stroke his ego with that mention just yet.
She loved spending time with Vince or Brandon when they were available. Just…it didn’t always feel like there was time. Thinking it over, she wondered if, since she had had a nice night with Brandon, she should offer to do something with Vince — something he wanted to do, even if it involved travel? The more she thought about it, the more she liked the idea, and the more she wanted to offer it to both men. They had each recently done a lot for and with her, things she wanted to do, and it seemed only fair to offer them likewise.
It might have been the middle of the day on the next to last day of school when she came to this conclusion, but that didn’t stop her from setting up a group text with the two of them. Don’t mind the group text, she started. I just didn’t feel like using copy/paste. You both have done a lot for and with me recently, things that were for me. Now, I would like to return the favor, and do things for or with you (stop thinking that, it’s not what I meant). Let me know – I’m willing to do something you enjoy, as opposed to you doing something I enjoy.
Time would tell what that brought. In the interim, she texted John, letting him know he was still welcome to her house, but his father was not. She caught him up on the why of the situation, and he understood. He liked hanging out with her, and intended to still come over periodically. She headed home after, intending to do an intense dance workout before relaxing in the jacuzzi and then shower. Beyond that, she wasn’t sure what the rest of the day would bring, and wasn’t sure she wanted to think too far ahead.
