“Dude, just call him already.”
“But..”
“But what? You’ve been staring at your phone for the last hour. Have you even heard anything we’ve said?”
Lucas looked around the room at his friends. Truthfully, he hadn’t. “Sorry guys, I guess not.”
His friends looked at each other, and it was Adrienne who spoke first. “You’re so hung up on him. Don’t deny it, we can tell.” she gently chided.
“Well, he’s definitely not hard to look at.” Jen added.
“Call. Him.” Kevin reiterated.
“But what if he doesn’t want to hear from me?”
“He’s never not taken your call. Why would he avoid you now?”
“Maybe he’s with his boyfriend?” Lucas offered. Adrienne spoke up next. “Well his boyfriend can’t be that important to him if he’s been hooking up with you.”
Jen reached over for the phone. “If you aren’t going to call him, I’m gonna text him.”
Lucas held the phone away. “Okay, okay…I’ll call. Jeez guys.”
“Just relax, be yourself. That’s what he likes best about you anyway.”
Lucas checked the time. It was 10:00pm – he hoped it wasn’t too late as he looked up the number in his phone, pressed dial, then put the phone to his ear.
“So is he a top or a bottom?” Kevin asked. The girls both shushed him, and Lucas blushed, and put his back to Kevin.
One ring….two rings…three… “Hello?” came a voice on the other end.
“H..hi, Jett. Hope I’m not calling too late. It’s Lucas.”
